Solos wants everyone to be able to use our website, the texting assistant and the school portal, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We are working toward that goal; we don't claim that every page meets every criterion today.
What we do
- Build pages with semantic HTML, headings, labels on every form field, visible keyboard focus and sufficient color contrast.
- Respect your device's reduced-motion setting: animations, including the product demo, stop and show a static version.
- Run automated accessibility checks (axe-core, WCAG 2 A and AA rules) on the main pages every time the website changes, and fix serious issues before release.
- Check pages on phone-sized screens and with the keyboard.
- The texting assistant works through your phone's own messaging app, so it can be used with your phone's built-in accessibility features, such as VoiceOver and TalkBack.
Known limitations
- The animated product demo is decorative. Screen readers get a text summary instead, and the How it works page describes each step in text.
- Screenshots of the assistant's pages are images with text descriptions.
- Documents published by CSLB (such as its application form) are CSLB's, and we can't change how accessible they are.
Get help or report a problem
If you have trouble using any part of our Services, or need information in another format, contact us through our contact form with the page or feature and the problem. We will work with you to provide the information or service another way, and we aim to reply within five business days. Students can also text SCHOOL to the assistant to ask a person at their school for help.
